Guerra Vera, a neighbor of the Abel Santamaría Urban Popular Council, stands out for his active and outstanding social community participation in the prevention and confrontation of the pandemic, in addition to leading a group of university students who last April was in the first ring of. the quarantine zone.
Previously, the honoree commented to the Cuban News Agency that this was a tough task, practically all day standing, in which contact with people in quarantine was avoided and the biosecurity standards were strictly followed under the supervision of the Public Health personnel.
At the ceremony held in the preamble room of the Municipal Museum, the grassroots leaders Claribel Gutiérrez González, Concepción Rubio Reyes, Yamila Licet Mendoza Cairo, Yolanda Columbié Caboverde and Iris Melsis Hechavarría Vicet were also distinguished with the Commemorative Seal.
Maritza Garoz Mogena, general secretary of the Municipal Committee of the FMC said that Lilia Hernández Vázquez -prevention technician and member of the team of specialists of the House of Orientation to Women and the Family- received the seal, in a special way, for the years dedication to educational work and social care.
The August 23 Distinction, alluding to the founding date of the women's organization, was conferred on Martha Alfreda Suárez Sanregre, Concepción de la Caridad Saínz Ramírez, Mirtha Licet Lodoza Borrego, Cándida Leonor Ihans Castillo, Cira Izquierdo Sotolongo and Mayelín Leyva Mora.
Garoz Mogena said that this year the organization in the special municipality will grow with 434 young people, of which 311 are already incorporated, the rest will join the organization in the last quarter of the year.
The female leader stressed that this August 23, as part of the movement "Continuity knocks on your door", the founders of the FMC will receive from the hands of the new generations an allegorical postcard to the anniversary.
